What is Colon Hydrotherapy?
Colon hydrotherapy, or a “colonic”, is a complementary health modality that facilitates gentle cleansing of the colon and promotes natural peristalsis of the large intestine.
Warmed, purified water is introduced into the large intestine. This softens and loosens the waste, which is released from the body by natural peristalsis.

FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
No. There are specific contraindications with colon hydrotherapy. Before the initial session, the client will complete a medical history form for review by our supervising naturopathic doctor. The client should also check with their health care practitioner if they have any concerns.
Modern colon irrigation devices are manufactured under strict federal guidelines and are compliant with FDA standards. Pressure and temperature are monitored throughout the session and valves prevent back flow. We use a closed-system device with disposable, single use speculums and tubing. The device is disinfected after the session.
The number of hydrotherapy sessions depend on the objectives and goals of the individual. In the beginning, it is recommended to have three sessions within a short period of time. This allows for the client to become comfortable with the procedure. After the initial sessions, a maintenance plan can be determined, if needed.
During the session, the client will have a gown to ensure modesty and the lower half of the body will be covered with a sheet. Your dignity is always respected.
A "closed system" device is used, so the waste is contained within tubing and there is no odor.
